Apologies. The entire site was downed because of outdated software and technical problems (all 20,000 pages!). We are in process bringing it over bit by bit. Working on the College section first to be ready by September.
The goal of the Seminary is to educate students to become well-equipped ministers of religion who are able to effectively serve the cross cultural and/or inter-faith ministry in the English language.
The Seminary offers contemporary programmes in inter-faith dialogure and Wayist theology that equip students to fulfill positions of leadership in religious and moral civic communities. There are three collaborative research projects affiliated to the seminary: Moral education which aims to address the formation of a human rights culture, Ecological theology, and Ecumenical theology in the multi-faith context.
WAYISM
What is Wayism
Wayism is an ever evolving core philosophy of religion. Waysim is the oldest inter-religious, inter-faith or cross cultural religious tradition known to history. It is in this Tradition that Lao Tzu would name the book of doctrine something to the effect of, “The Way and its Power”, or “The Royal Way” - Tao Teh Ching. Buddha Gautama's movement was called the Mahayana – the Way of the Many – and his doctrines are simply called The Eightfold Way. In the ancient tradition of Wayism Jesus's doctrines were also called The Way (See Acts of the Apostles, Acts of Yesu, etc) before Paul started the Jewish diaspora movement he called the Christians (the Messiah's Followers). Jesus, like Buddha Gautama could speak of himself as having fully embraced and incarnated (embodied) The Way. The core Hindu text, the Bhagavad Gita, is basically a book of the Ways as it treats of the various Ways one can attain Nirvana (and beyond) – the Way of Love, the Way of knowledge, the Way of devotion, etc. Of the earliest Teachers of Wayism was Melchizedek who, at the time, headed up a chapter of Wayists first in Kashmir and later in Mesopotamia – this was probably around 1,800 BCE.
Wayism's core Scripture collection is The Eastern Bible. The Eastern Bible constitutes books of St. Thomas concerning Jesus' Eastern teachings; Tao Teh Ching, Bhagavad Gita, Song of Songs and other.
Some Aphorisms of Wayism:
- There is but One God from whence all come and within which all exist.
- There are many paths, yet only one Way.
- The Way is God's Plan for humankind. Nothing disturbs God.
- The Way is the middle road between the two extremes; the extremes being evil and the Way being natural.
- There will always be a guide on The Way close to you – all you have to do to obtain it is to allow it.
- The Way is the peace of the chaos, the meaning of the unfathomable, the essence of the Void.
- Without the Way there is only Maya.
What Wayism is not
Wayism is not a cult – it has no single leader, figurehead or charismatic head person; it does not 'evangelize' and does not seek out your membership.
Wayism is not a religion – it is philosophy, often philosophy of religion - the Way we condition our mind, soul and spirit; it has to do with the footprints we leave in our society and in other people's lives.
Wayist seminars are not traditional church meetings – but has been described as what some imagine an Agnostic Church seminar could be like. Agnosticism holds that we do not have the ability to know (a lack of A knowledge gnosis) whether God exists, is there a Christ, does a Buddha exist, or whether any one of the religious movements are right. Wayist seminars approach life from a similar point of view and take into consideration most religious traditions to study and seek that Golden Thread of the One Way expressed in many paths.
Wayist Teachers are not ministers in only one tradition – our Teachers are academically highly qualified and have read, lived and studied world religions over many years. Wayist ministers (called Counsellors) work under direct tutelage of a Teacher.
Wayists are not exclusive – we have Wayist teachers in the Hindi Tradition, and from the ancient Kashmir Church of the East, and from the Western Chinese Taoist Tradition, the Yogi Tradition, from the enlightened Christian Tradition, the Jewish (gnostic and Cabalistic) Tradition, The Mahayana and of course those who choose the pure Wayists path. The so-called Three Wise Men who organized and funded Yesu's education and ministry were Wayist Teachers from three different religious traditions.
Wayism is not for free – It costs money to exist as an organization, to teach and to minister. The Wayist organization has been in existence for millennia and it will continue for as long as it takes to serve its purpose.
Wayism is not for everyone - Who wants to be a Wayist? People are drawn to Wayism as a vocation, a calling, as result of some core knowledge or conversely as result of some core agnosticism yet a great need top explore, test and see if they can fathom The Way and resonate with the Spirit. Most people will be bored to death here because we are all about world religions but more about philosophy of being and pneumatology, psychology and the purpose of life. Many members are mystics. Some members are studying to minister to the public at large as interfaith Counsellors, some are studying to be Wayist counsellors and maintain groups in their home towns, Most members are members of affinity – we join because we know instinctively that we belong here, been here before, and we know we are being gathered for a major event.
