Courses

St. Xenophon Wayist Seminary oversees and accredits two paths of education and training - the academic path and the vocational training path.

Academic Path

Because of the big trek to Canada SXC is limiting new intakes to only two degrees and a handful vocational courses for a few years. St. Xenophon Seminary oversees and confers the M Div and D Div degrees.

M Div Path

Step 1: Candidate completes a BA majoring in either World Religions or Philosophy of Religion at an accredited degree granting institution in her/his own country.
Step 2: Candidate completes a DipTH or equivalent an accredited diploma granting institution for the Diploma in Theology (at least 60 credit hours / minimum 30 months) in his/her own country in his or her native Tradition or Tradition of choice majoring in either Counseling or Education.
Step 3. Candidate proposes, defends, and completes a major dissertation under tutelage of a St. Xenophon Teacher. Proposals can first be made in the year after BA graduation. Dissertations must deal with matters or topics of Wayism or inter-faith traditions.

D Div Path

Any M Div graduate may apply for the D Div program.
Steps to obtain the Ph.D. Degree:
1. Applying for Admission
2. Program coursework
3. Selecting a principal Advisor
4. General Qualifying Exam
5. University Oral Exam
6. Dissertation Sumbission

Vocational Path

Vocational training constitutes the bulk of the courses and programs. Most members engage in informal vocational or incidental courses. Most Counsellors eventually gained full ordination after some years of supervised on-the-job training while racking up vocational courses.
