Explanation of the difference in academic programs
StX Seminary presents various academic programs. Each program has a slightly different aim. Therefore each program consists of a selection of mandatory courses, or a choice of courses from a particular range that serve a program’s particular aim.
|
Example:
- The Divinity Program prepares students for: further studies in Wayist pneumatology, theology, spirituality, and ministry. While the emphasis of the program is on academic inquiry and excellence, and the practical aspects of the program is focused on creating learning environments, the program nevertheless prepares the student for ongoing pastoral ministry and excellence in dealing with pastoral matters. Students enrolled in this program undertake studies that lead to the degrees B Div, M Div, and D Div.
- The Ministry Program prepares students for further inquiry, practice or studies in Wayist ministry, pneumatology, theology, and spirituality. While the emphasis of the program is on pastoral work, and the practical aspects of the program are focused on pastoral encounters, the program nevertheless prepares the student for ongoing academic and philosophical inquiry, and excellence in reason. Students enrolled in this program undertake studies that lead to the degrees B.A Min, M.A. Min, and D. Min.
