The Path is for All Butterfly Path introduces the modern reader to a tried and tested, ancient personal life philosophy that is not a religion. Natural spirituality (the Way) has been with humankind since its founding, and is always available to every person alive, notwithstanding age, faith, race, culture, gender, socio-economic status, mental ability, or education. By allowing yourself to embrace your Path on the Way, the manner in which you view life and how you manage your relationships, will forever change, and so will change the things that bring you joy. The Butterfly Path flourishes anywhere equally. It blossoms in the open and welcoming community of like-minded spiritual beings, or in the secret perfumed gardens of one’s own higher-self.
To have thousands of different cultural interpretations of this one foundational metaphysical truth was (perhaps) the right way (or the only way) in the past. Every culture embroidered on the same spiritual truths, each making a home for these truths in its own language and cultural idiom. However, today, this true ancient spirituality is more accessible to all because technology has brought insight and wisdom that eluded most of our ancestors.
In this new era, we see young people grow up in an ever-shrinking ‘global village’ where everyone is connected, where local issues become global overnight. We are now ready to understand spirituality as a common human phenomenon and not as something unique to our tribal or cultural traditions.
The Path is Spirituality — Not Religion or Culture On the Butterfly Path, we learn to understand why religions exist and how they are important for people at certain levels of soul maturity. While we are not religious in the conventional sense, we learn to love the mystic teachers of the Way who worked through religions such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Daoism, and Islam; all of which provide teachings that feed our souls.
We understand why ego is important, why we cannot stop identifying as individuals, and should not try to do so while in the human condition. We learn to elevate our ego to the higher-self and sanctify it. We cannot not identify as individuals, because we are becoming individual spiritual entities just like the countless number of individua buddhas, angels, and gods. Like them, we will also live and work for millennia to become spiritual beings, before we may one day flow back into the Source, as all things do.
We learn that the essence of all spiritualities springs from the same fountain and we can see the beauty in all its forms. We are all flowing toward the same destiny. We may still prefer to use names and imagery familiar to our culture for spiritual, celestial, and metaphysical concepts — and that is just fine.
As we advance in spirituality, there will be increased tolerance for others, an increase in kindness, humility, and compassion. This new era is marked by simplicity in teachings, lack of hierarchy or organized religion, and an increase in benevolence towards all.
In this time, simplicity marks the truth — we are growing out of that period when people would be in awe of nonsensical, garbled language and feel-good cliché rolling off the golden tongues of gurus.
The renewed awareness of this ancient Path is as much a tonic for success in life as it is a spiritual energy healing modality for the mind, the soul, and our spirit’s future immortality. We are in control of our spirituality — no longer do we look to others to ‘grant or deny’ us that healing, wellness, prosperity, and peace that is our inalienable inheritance.
