Well my neighbor prays for sunshine
When his crops need rain
He asks the Lord to bless his life
And take away his pain
But me I talk to mushrooms growing underneath the pine
And my Tara just laughs when I trip
Says get up, you’re doing fine
I’m walking this Wayist life
Ain’t got it figured out
I find my riches in the things that others do without
No prayers to change the weather
No answers set in stone
Just me and my Tara stumbling
But I’m never alone
Yeah, I’m walking this Wayist life
And brother I’m walking it proud
I see my cousin talking to his AI on his phone
Says that thing ain’t got a soul
But I don’t think he’s known
That everything from toadstools to that crow up in the tree
Has got that spark of something
Same as you and same as me
I’m walking this Wayist life
Ain’t got it figured out
I find my riches in the things that others do without
No prayers to change the weather
No answers set in stone
Just me and my Tara stumbling
But I’m never alone
Yeah, I’m walking this Wayist life
And brother I’m walking it proud
Now some folks say I’m crazy finding truth in what’s unsure
Looking for the wisdom living in the space between
They want their answers simple, black and white and squeaky clean
But me, I love the messy, the authentic and impure
Cause suffering ain’t useless
Enjoying all that’s pure
They say I’m broke and simple, living small without much gold
But I got conversations with the carrots that I’ve grown
My Tara watches patient when I make the same mistakes
She doesn’t fix the weather
Just hands me one more piece of cake
I’m walking this Wayist life
Ain’t got it figured out
I find my riches in the things that others do without
No prayers to change the weather
No answers set in stone
Just me and my Tara stumbling
But I’m never alone
Yeah, I’m walking this Wayist life
This beautiful uncertain messy Wayist life
And brother I’m walking it proud
Just walking
Talking to the mycelium
Making friends with the crows
And my Tara’s still laughing
